Cosmetic products — not medical devices

Oralvyn products are cosmetic products for external use in the mouth by adults. They are not medical devices, medicines, or therapeutic goods. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition, including tooth decay, gum disease or any other oral health condition. All results and effects described on this store are cosmetic in nature.

What our products do — and what they do not

Our whitening and colour-correcting products act on the appearance of the tooth surface.

Surface stains. Our products are intended to lift and reduce the appearance of extrinsic (surface) stains, such as those left by coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco.
Intrinsic discolouration. Discolouration that comes from within the tooth — caused by ageing, medication, injury or developmental conditions — does not respond to cosmetic surface products in the same way, and may not change at all.
Colour correctors. Our V34 purple products work optically. Purple pigment neutralises yellow tones on the surface of the tooth so that teeth look brighter. This is a visual, temporary effect. It is not bleaching, and it does not alter the natural colour of your teeth.

If you are unhappy with the colour of your teeth and want a permanent or clinical change, speak to a dentist.

Individual results vary

The cosmetic effects of Oralvyn products are temporary and vary from person to person. Outcomes depend on your starting tooth shade, the condition of your enamel, the type and age of the staining, your diet and habits, and how consistently you use the product. No specific result, shade change or timeframe is promised or guaranteed.

Who should not use our whitening products

Our whitening products are intended for healthy adults aged 18 or over. Do not use them if you are:

under 18 years of age;
pregnant or breastfeeding;
affected by gum disease, receding gums or exposed dentine;
affected by untreated tooth decay, cracked teeth or damaged enamel;
undergoing orthodontic or other dental treatment, unless your dentist has told you it is safe to do so.

If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for you, ask a dentist before use.

Dental work

Cosmetic whitening and colour-correcting products act on natural tooth enamel only. They will not change the colour of crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures, implants or fillings. Using them may make the difference in shade between natural teeth and existing dental work more noticeable.

If you experience discomfort

Stop using the product immediately if you experience pain, persistent sensitivity, gum irritation, swelling or any other adverse reaction, and speak to a dentist. Follow the instructions supplied with the product and do not exceed the stated frequency or duration of use.

Not a substitute for dental care

Nothing on this store is dental, medical or professional advice, and nothing here replaces an examination by a qualified dental professional. Cosmetic products do not clean below the gum line, do not treat decay or gum disease, and are not a substitute for brushing, flossing and regular check-ups. Electrical products sold on this store, including toothbrushes and cleaning devices, must be used in accordance with the instructions supplied. Do not use a damaged device or charger. Products intended for children are to be used under adult supervision.
